A PRIMER ON POSTMODERNISM
by Stanley J. Grenz
Although a decade old, this is a very worthwhile read. A decade's perspective looking back shows how accurate Grenz was in his analysis. The first 3 chapters give a good description of the slippery concept of postmodernism. The last chapter is a balanced Christian perspective on it. The middle chapters give the philosophical history and underpinnings - very tough reading. But the non-philosopher can still follow the thread and grasp the paradigm shift in culture. A little reflection will reveal how this shift is obvious in daily life, thought, and action.
